Maarten de Haan started his career in 2002 working as a management consultant with Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and Accenture. Between 2012 and 2017 he has been 5 years working and living in Brazil before coming back to the Netherlands.

Since 2017 he is working as a senior program manager and sustainability manager for Bayer (as an external consultant). Maarten is also active as city councillor (gemeenteraadslid) of D66 (D66 is second largest political party in NL and is in the current government coalition). Maarten has in his portfolio ‘sustainability and green’ for the municipality of Amstelveen (Amstelveen is next to Amsterdam and has one of the highest expat populations in the Netherlands).
